No se si estaran bien hay cosas muy raras como que el 4x4 pesa menos(en la pagina inglesa pone 1240kg que me parece mas coherente), gasta menos( :? ), en medidas es el mas corto de todos(esto si parece correcto), curioso...

Aparecio en el nº1878 de Autopista(SI ALGUIEN SABE DONDE CONSEGUIRLO O DISPONE DE EL ESCANEADO QUE AVISE!!!!), donde comparan al RS2000 con el Delta HPE y el ZX 16v hay un recuadro con datos del 4X4, tiene un diferencial central viscoso tipo Ferguson con un reparto de un 40 delante y un 60 detrás, que varía dependiendo de las condiciones, este diferencial hacía también de autoblocante, que a falta de control de tracción mejoraba el comportamiento en condiciones adversas, las prestaciones son algo peores que el tracción delantera así como el consumo debido a los 100 kg extras del sistema.

In 1995, the escort range including the RS2000 2wd and 4x4 underwent final updates and modifications. These included mainly external changes to the front of the car which included, new bonnet, grill, bumper with integral fog lights and improved headlights. Mechanical improvements included relocation of various engine ancillaries and improved handling in the form of a 3 point top strut mount as opposed the earlier 2 point. Wheel style was also revised although if these dull 5 spokes was a improvement is debatable. The interior style was also completely revised and included white sports dials and "flow" trimming throughout.

Although the RS2000 4x4 provided excellent handling, performance suffered greatly compared with the 2wd version due to the difference in power to weight ratio.

As far as it can be ascertained, production of the RS2000, the last to date RS badged car, was ceased in August 1996. It is believed the actual last RS2000 was built on 26th August 1996 and had the VIN GCABTD05434. The main reason Ford ceased production, much like the Escort Cosworth was due to the lack of sales they had expected along with a possible noise level problem.Could it have been Ford wanted the family/green image.

To date (210804) based on information received from a Ford dealership, the 4x4 was built to order only and the dealership records show only 129 4x4's are left on the road and in use, information as to how many were sold to the public should follow shortly, 500 shells were produced a number of these were then finished and used for rallying, the dealership believes that fewer than 350 were actually made available to the public.


In 1993 Ford introduced a 4x4 version of the Mk6 RS2000. It used the same 16v DOHC I4 engine as the front wheel drive car. Power was split 40/60% front and rear by a viscous coupled centre differential.
